1st Post-Welcome

Welcome!

      I am an elementary teacher trying to weed through all the programs, curriculums, standards, philosophies, and requirements to find what really works. My goal is to help each of my students see the magic in learning. I am here like many teachers to try and clarify who I am as a teacher, to discover and share what works (and what doesn't), to record those ah-ha moments that makes being a teacher so rewarding. I've only been teaching full time for the past two year, but I've considered myself a teacher for much longer. I was one of those lucky people who've always know what they'll be when they'd grow up.
    I'm from Michigan, but these past two years I've been teaching at a struggling school in the South. It has been a challenging two years, but a great time of learning and growing. I've learned that you need faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust to make it through the year. Why faith, trust, and pixie dust? Because... I have to have faith and trust in my students-that they all can and will succeed. In myself as a teacher and in God's plan for me. Pixie Dust, because on those days when everything's going wrong you need a little magic. Lastly, because I love anything Disney. (I mean who doesn't?)
