Summer Bucket List

  •   Read Gone With the Wind
I tried last summer and I couldn’t get through it. It doesn’t help that the main character drives me nuts…Oh, Scarlet!
  •  Organized Classroom Supplies
I’d really like a clutter-free classroom next year. I always end up with piles of papers everywhere and I hope I can set up a system that will prevent this. I’d also like to be able to easily find everything!

  •  Create Reward Cards with Vista Print
In the past, I’ve used a ticket and store system. The store was made up of mostly candy and junk toys which I’d like to move away from. I just need to figure out how to make it work.
  • Develop a Classroom Procedures (book/brochure)
I saw this on the blog Caffeinated Conclusions. It seems like a great way to let parents and students know what’s going on.

  • Plan out DOT Binders for Students
I’d really like to use these Daily Organization Tool Binders with my students. I think it will help teach responsibility and organization, promote family-teacher communication, and limit the amount of times I hear “I don’t know where [insert lost item] is…” I’ve seen these binders called a lot of different things but I’m thinking of going with a star and polka dot classroom theme, so a DOT binder works great!

  •   Stay on top of graduate class work
I am a chronic procrastinator and with it being summer it just gets worse.

  •   Exercise 3 times a week
I’d like to work up to being able to complete a 5k. I just downloaded couch to 5k and I’m excited to try it!

  • Donate items to Goodwill
I have a lot of items I don’t use…a floor lamp, couch, clothes. Instead of letting them take up space I need to donate them, so someone who really needs them can use them.

  •  Plan Lessons (At least for first marking period)
This will mostly depend on how soon I know what I will be teaching next year. I just hope I know soon enough so I can actually be more prepared this year.

  •   Start AND Finish Crafts
I have a T-shirt quilt to finish and lots of crafts from Pinterest I want to do…
